Therapy for Behavioural Issues
Understanding the patterns that aren't serving you and developing healthier ways of coping and living.
Get in TouchUnderstanding Behavioural Patterns
We all develop patterns of behaviour throughout our lives—ways of coping, relating, and responding to the world. Many of these patterns once served a purpose, but some may now be causing problems or holding you back.
Perhaps you find yourself repeating the same unhealthy patterns in relationships, turning to harmful coping mechanisms, or acting in ways that go against your values. You might feel frustrated with yourself, wondering why you keep doing things you know aren't good for you.
Behavioural change isn't about willpower—it's about understanding the underlying needs these behaviours are trying to meet and finding healthier ways to meet them.
Patterns I Work With
Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms
Turning to food, substances, shopping, or other behaviours to manage difficult emotions, even when you know they're not serving you.
Relationship Patterns
Repeating the same dynamics in relationships—choosing similar partners, falling into the same conflicts, or struggling with the same issues.
Compulsive Behaviours
Behaviours that feel driven or compulsive, that provide temporary relief but create longer-term problems or distress.
Self-Destructive Patterns
Acting in ways that harm your wellbeing, relationships, or goals—sometimes without fully understanding why.
How I Work with Behaviour
I take an integrative approach that looks beyond the behaviour itself to understand what's driving it. Often, problematic behaviours are attempts to meet legitimate needs in the wrong way.
We'll explore when and why these patterns developed, what triggers them now, and what needs they're trying to meet.
Rather than simply trying to stop unwanted behaviours, we'll work on developing new ways of meeting your needs and coping with difficult feelings.
